Dorotea Rivera-Field, CPDT-KA

Dorotea Rivera-Field is the owner of Dot’s Dog Training & Pet Services. She has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) since 2006 and holds shelter and rescue dogs close to her heart. Her shelter background left her with a true felt awareness of the high numbers of relinquished dogs due to behavior problems that could easily be prevented through management, training, exercise, and proper communication. Her goal is to provide dog owners with the building blocks to a better relationship with their dogs. Doing so in a positive, science based, and force free method.

- Certified Professional Dog Trainer (www.ccpdt.org), the first national certification for dog trainers in the United States since 2006

- Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (www.apdt.com) since 2005

- Certified in Pet CPR & First Aid by Red Cross Instructor since 2005

- Former Volunteer Trainer for Pets for Life (formerly known as Safety Net) and Waggytail Rescue.

- Former Dog Group Class Instructor at Semper Fido in Brooklyn, NY(www.semperfidony.com)

- Over 500 volunteer hours as a behavior evaluator assistant at the Animal Care and Control of NYC (nycacc.org) with shelter dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments.

Dorotea has relocated to Putnam County with her husband, three dogs; Gizmo, Chloe, and Harley Wagalot, and three cats; Nemo, Larry, and Wilky Bear. She enjoys learning about all things dog and keeps her knowledge and skills current by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences.
